Briar is Here! Plus, the Anti-Hustle

Happy New Year friends! We’re enjoying a last day of holiday rest at my house, before my wife goes back to work tomorrow and I leap into house projects and yard projects and art projects.

I’m not making any resolutions, or setting any goals this year. I recently realized I try my hardest every day: there’s no need to pile on more pressure. Instead, I want to be gentler with myself, to let myself off the hook a little bit, to ask myself how I can be kind to myself every day. And I want to celebrate and enjoy more! Which leads me to the real reason for this post.

The day has come! Briar is available for immediate download from several booksellers today. I’m so happy that you all finally get to read my story. It’s a short novella, so it’s only available in digital formats, but you have several options for buying it.

It’s hard for me to talk about this story coherently. It’s quite literally a love story to plants, but it’s also kind of a horror story, and other than that I don’t know what to tell you. As you can see, I’m GREAT at marketing! But I hope you will read my story, and I hope it will bring you joy in some way. And if you do like it, I hope you’ll leave a nice review on Amazon or Goodreads.

I’ve wanted to publish a book for a long time. And this is just a little book, but my sense of accomplishment is still pretty huge. So today I’m going to savor that sense of accomplishment, even if I’m also biting my nails a bit about putting my work out there.

I hope you have something to celebrate today, too, and are being very nice to yourself.

If this post inspired or informed you, or just made you happy, feel free to buy me a cup of ko-fi. Your support helps with the cost of web hosting and other expenses, allowing me to spend more time creating posts for you.
